Elk Grove Honda is the oldest Honda dealership in Northern California. The dealership has a history of family ownership and traditional values, which continue today.
Originally purchased in 1965 by Frank Sr. and Mary Radich, the dealership was called Honda West Sacramento and dealt exclusively in motorcycles. Like most small businesses, the franchise labored in its early years. A move to a new facility accompanied by a name change in 1967 and South City Honda became known for selling and servicing Honda motorcycles and power products.
In 1971, Honda created a revolution by offering their first automobile called "N600", followed in 1972 by another air-cooled automobile called "Z600" coupe. In 1973, Honda began to roll with the introduction of the Honda CVCC followed by the history-making first 4-door Accord in 1976.
Increased business created a need for a new facility and South City Honda began selling automobiles in 1979 in their new location on Franklin Boulevard.
In 1981, Frank Jr. and Kathy Radich purchased the dealership from Frank's parents, continuing the tradition of family ownership. That year also saw the hiring of Maggie Tadlock who became part owner of the business in 1998. The motorcycle franchise was sold during that time and South City Honda was exclusively in the automobile business.
An increased customer base in sales and service created the need for yet another expansion and move. In 1999, the dealership name was changed to Elk Grove Honda to coincide with the construction and opening of a state-of-the-art facility in the Elk Grove Auto Mall. The full-service dealership is a leader in sales, service, parts and collision repair.
In almost forty years in business, Elk Grove Honda has changed significantly. The dealership, which began with the staff of eight, now boasts more than 125 employees. The continuing thread, however, that runs throughout the dealership's rich history is its commitment to traditional values. Each employee is treated as an individual with special talents and skills that contribute to the dealership's overall goal - complete customer satisfaction.
